Iran War Might Force Nigerians to COVID-19 Working Style, Aliko Dangote Says

African governments need to get ready for problems with budget obligations, lower revenues stemming from global oil market instability, and rising foreign debt, the Nigerian billionaire said after a meeting with President Tinubu.

The global economic fallout of the crisis will hit hardest at ordinary Africans running small businesses—especially barbers, bread sellers, and industries dependent on generators for power, Africa's richest man noted.

"We don’t have much to do with it. But, you know, the world is a global village, and it definitely will affect us. We pray this situation will be sorted out, and I hope that it is not going to escalate further, because if it doesn’t de-escalate, we’ll end up paying big prices,” he said.

Dangote had earlier responded to the volatility in the global crude oil market by reducing the cost of products from his refinery as part of measures to ease the hardship.
