US to Continue Nuclear Treaty Talks With Russia After New START Expiry
The White House says the US will keep engaging with Russia on negotiations for a new and improved nuclear arms treaty to replace the New START agreement.
ℹ The New START treaty officially expired on February 5.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry said it no longer considers itself bound by the treaty’s obligations, while President Vladimir Putin had proposed extending the restrictions for another year in September 2025.
