'Your Culture is Your Identity': Nigerian Artist of Yoruba Origin
As a Yoruba man, Yusuf Durodola, a Nigerian painter and performance artist, identifies solely with Yoruba culture and always incorporates it into his artistic endeavors.
In an interview with Sputnik Africa, Durodola explained that his work aims to educate people about Yoruba culture, emphasizing that he performs in his dialect to spark curiosity and share its meaning, thereby promoting his culture globally.
"Because when your culture is being taken away from you, then you are no more," the artist asserted. "If I don't hold on to my culture, then who am I?"
