On Wednesday, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the commander-in-chief of the Sudanese army and head of the Sudanese Sovereignty Council, announced that the Sudanese armed forces had freed Khartoum from the rebel units of the Rapid Support Forces.
Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has vowed to crush the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), ruling out any reconciliation in a statement on Saturday.
However, Burhan also offered amnesty to rebel fighters who "repent to the truth" and disarm, particularly those in rebel-held areas.

Sudan's Army Continues to Fight RSF After Victor in Two-Year Battle for Capital, Media Reports
In a separate announcement, the Sudanese army stated it seized Souq Libya, a major market in Khartoum's twin city of Omdurman, which the RSF had previously used to launch attacks. The army claimed control of most of Khartoum and reported capturing abandoned RSF weapons and equipment at the market.
