TEHRAN (Sputnik) - The Israel Defense Forces resumed strikes against the Gaza Strip last week. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office justified the strikes by Hamas' refusal to accept the US plan to extend the ceasefire regime and continue the release of hostages.
Iran will continue to support the Palestinian people and the resistance movement against Israel, including continuing to conduct military operations against the Jewish state, Iran's Quds Force commander Esmail Qaani said.
"The Islamic Republic will continue to support Palestine, both through support for fighters from the resistance front and through direct military operations such as True Promise 1 and True Promise 2," Qaani was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency on Wednesday.

Iran Working to Build Force Greater Than Previous Operation Against Israel, General Staff Chief Says
In 2024, Iran launched two missile attacks on Israel for the first time in history. The first attack was made on April 14 in response to Israel's strike on the Iranian Consulate General in Damascus, and the second massive missile attack was launched on October 1. Iran called the attack a response to the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh.
