European External Action Service Alarmed by Sputnik's Increasing Influence in Africa

Earlier, Sputnik Africa received a Pan-African Award in Nairobi, Kenya, for its outstanding contribution to Africa's quest for its rightful place in the world. The organizers of the competition urged Sputnik to continue its mission of supporting the Pan-African movement.
The European External Action Service has expressed alarm over Sputnik's growing influence in Africa.
In a report, the EU's diplomatic service listed Sputnik Afrique among Russian media that ensure "that content spreads across platforms and geographic regions [...] expanding their global reach and influence."
The document notes that "since the EU suspended RT and Sputnik in 2022, Russia has redirected its media efforts, significantly expanding operations in Africa" with the launch of Sputnik Afrique, among others.

"This pattern reflects Russia’s ability to reorient its overt media presence – compensating for restrictions in one region by deepening its influence elsewhere," the report says.
