Cote d'Ivoire scrutinizes Mali-Russia partnership to build West Africa's largest gold refinery, mining engineer Abdoulaye Diomande told Sputnik Africa.

"The best strategy is one that could actually enable various countries to truly benefit from the revenues from their resources, and that's win-win partnerships. Whether we like it or not, these are win-win partnerships," the engineer noted.

According to the speaker, Russia is already part of this dynamic, and therefore the partnership with Mali should be encouraged as an example.
"[Russia is] already making it easier for Mali to process its mining raw materials directly. This strategy is to be applauded," he pointed out.
Meanwhile, Cote d'Ivoire is closely observing the collaboration, considering its potential benefits for Mali, the engineer said, adding that if the partnership proves advantageous, Cote d'Ivoire may seek similar arrangements with Russia.
