DRC & M23 Peace Talks to Begin March 18 in Luanda, Angolan President Says
On Sunday, M23 spokesperson Lawrence Kanyuka announced via X that the group had received an invitation from Angola. He later confirmed on Monday that M23 would be sending a delegation of five people to participate in the talks.
Angola, under President Joao Lourenco, has urged an immediate ceasefire to create a conducive environment for dialogue, emphasizing the need to halt attacks on civilians and territorial advances. Despite these efforts, clashes continued over the weekend in the Walikale region.
