10:33 17.03.2025 (Updated: 11:15 18.03.2025) MOSCOW (Sputnik) - US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff said that he finds Russia's efforts to address the Ukraine crisis constructive, commenting on French President Emmanuel Macron's doubts about Moscow's desire to reach peace.
"I'm not gonna comment on what he [Macron] said, because I don't know what he said. I know what I heard, the body language I witnessed. I saw a constructive effort [from Russia] over a long period of time to discuss the specifics of what's going on in the field," Witkoff told CBS.
Moreover, a potential agreement on the Black Sea is discussed within contacts on Ukraine, he said.
"There are different conditions of battlefield; we've got to discuss that. There are regions that we all know Russians are focused on; there is a nuclear reactor that supplies quite a bit of electricity to the country of Ukraine. That's got to be dealt with. There is access to ports; there is the Black Sea potential agreement. There are just so many elements to the implementation of ceasefire here," Witkoff stated.
