Egypt supports any initiative aimed at ending the crisis in Ukraine, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated.Egypt closely followed the consultations that took place in Saudi Arabia with the aim of reaching mutual understandings to end the conflict in Ukraine, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said, noting that Egypt participated in Arab and African initiatives and the Friends of Peace initiative.Earlier, on March 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he agreed with the US proposal to end the fighting in Ukraine, but that the ceasefire must lead to long-term peace and address the root causes of the crisis.
