The UK government is considering creating a new intelligence-sharing subgroup within the Five Eyes alliance in response to US President Donald Trump’s actions over Ukraine, the Daily Mail newspaper reported on Sunday, citing unnamed defense sources. The source told Daily Mail that the new initiative is not about leaving Five Eyes, but about forming a new Four Eyes suborganization within it. At the same time, some US allies are considering reducing the intelligence they share with Washington amid concerns over the administration's conciliatory approach to Russia, the sources told NBC News. Such countries reportedly include Israel and Saudi Arabia, as well as Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada and New Zealand, which are members of the Five Eyes joint intelligence alliance with the United States. However, authorities in the United Kingdom, Canada and Israel denied such reports, while officials from New Zealand, Australia and Saudi Arabia refused to comment. On Wednesday, CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirmed media reports that the US had paused intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

UK May Create Intelligence Alliance to Share Data With Ukraine, Reports Say
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The calls for the initiative reportedly emerged after the US halted intelligence-sharing with Kiev and prohibited the UK and other allies from passing American intelligence to Ukraine. A new proposed subgroup would allow intelligence sharing without a US veto, the report read.
The UK government is considering creating a new intelligence-sharing subgroup within the Five Eyes alliance in response to US President Donald Trump’s
actions over Ukraine, the Daily Mail newspaper reported on Sunday, citing unnamed defense sources.
The source told Daily Mail that the new initiative
is not about leaving Five Eyes, but about forming a new Four Eyes suborganization within it.
