WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Earlier on Friday, talks between Zelensky and Trump regarding the peace settlement in Ukraine ended in failure after a spat in the Oval Office. Trump’s senior officials asked the Ukrainian delegation to leave the White House and canceled a joint press conference.
US Senator Lindsey Graham, who is on Russia's list of extremists and terrorists, told reporters that Volodymyr Zelensky, following his clash in the Oval Office with US President Donald Trump, must either resign and send someone else to negotiate with Trump or he needs to change his behavior.
Graham, a supporter of Zelensky, met him just before the talks in the White House.

“He [Zelensky] either needs to resign and send somebody over that we can do business with, or he needs to change,” he said on Friday. “The question for me for the Ukrainian people: I do not know if Zelensky can ever get you to where you want to go with the United States.”

Graham called Zelensky’s behavior in the Oval Office disrespectful and raised doubts if the United States can ever do business with him again.

The senator also said that Zelensky’s behavior during the talks made it almost impossible to continue Washington’s support for Kiev.
“I don't know if you can ever do a deal with Zelensky anymore,” Graham told Fox News.
Moreover, US billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk weighed in on the events that unfolded in the Oval Office, saying in an X post, “This is a very big deal.”
US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene on Friday called what happened at the meeting between Zelensky and Trump in the Oval Office the “culmination” of the Ukrainian president’s arrogance.
