Congolese protesters demonstrating in front of Western embassies in Kinshasa believe that France, the United States, and the European Union are complicit in the ongoing conflict in the North Kivu province of eastern DRC, a Pan-Africanist noted.
Since Monday, the Congolese people, mobilized by the Panafrican Emergency Movement, have launched what they call Operation Lumumba, holding demonstrations in front of Western embassies to protest against the Rwandan-backed offensives in the east of the country, the movement's national coordinator in the DRC, Fortifi Lushima, told Sputnik Africa.

"This operation was announced by the Urgences Panafricanistes [Panafrican Emergency] movement to put pressure on all Western embassies, on all Western entities which are today perceived as the real sponsors of what is happening in Kivu, because these entities have decided to support and finance Paul Kagame's Rwanda in order to attack us," he said.

On Tuesday, rallies were held in front of the US and French embassies in the DRC capital, Lushima noted, adding that demonstrators are burning US and French flags and tires in front of Western embassies to express their indignation.
"The people are demanding the departure from Congolese soil of Western chanceries and diplomatic offices that support Rwanda. […] The objective of Operation Lumumba - to put pressure on all the governments, on all the symbols, on all the interests linked to the governments that have decided to make Rwanda their proxy in their project to plunder and exploit Congolese minerals," the speaker explained.
