The board plans to further establish the specific reasons why the flight recorders stopped working, while aviation experts believe that this could have been caused by a complete power outage after both engines failed as a result of the aircraft colliding with a flock of birds, Yonhap said. On December 29, Jeju Air's Boeing 737-800 flight 7C 2216 from Bangkok to South Korea's Muan with 181 people on board ran off the runway while landing and crashed into a fence. Two people survived, while 179 were killed in the crash.
