President-elect John Dramani Mahama appointed speaker of the parliament ahead of Tuesday's inauguration, the office of the incoming leader said in a statement on Sunday.
"The president-elect, John Dramani Mahama, has in consultation with the National Executive and Parliamentary Leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), mandated the nomination of […] Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin as speaker of the 9th parliament of the fourth republic," the statement read.
