The Catholic Church's 2025 Jubilee, proclaimed with the papal bull "Spes non confundit" (Latin for "Hope does not disappoint"), began on December 24, 2024, and concludes on January 6, 2026.
Pope Francis called on world leaders to forgive or lower the debts of poorer nations for the Vatican's 2025 Jubilee Year.

I, therefore, encourage the rulers of countries with a Christian tradition to set a good example by cancelling or reducing as much as possible the debts of the poorest countries," he stated.
