According to Sudanese Information and Culture Minister Khalid Alesir, Western media is misrepresenting the Sudan civil war by backing the narrative of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).Western media's accusations that the Sudanese army is bombing civilians is "unjustified," the minister said.Alesir stated that RSF militias, not the Sudanese army, target, abuse, and displace civilians. He also highlighted the army's role in protecting fleeing civilians. The minister added that Western-backed political groups, such as Tagadum, hijacked the Sudanese revolution to support the RSF, who also attacked Sudanese media, causing significant financial losses but prompting the building of new media institutions. The Sudanese minister also affirmed that Turkish mediation between Sudan and the UAE, initiated by President Erdogan and welcomed by Abu Dhabi, aims to end the war. This comes after Sudan filed a complaint against the UAE at the UN, which the UAE denied.

The Sudanese conflict, which began in April 2023 due to tensions between the army and paramilitary RSF, has resulted in a humanitarian crisis with mass displacement, thousands of deaths, and widespread hunger.
According to Sudanese Information and Culture Minister Khalid Alesir, Western media is misrepresenting the
Sudan civil war by backing the narrative of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Western media's accusations that the Sudanese army is bombing civilians is "unjustified," the minister said.
"Ask the Sudanese people, do they think that the army targets them [...] the answer will be the Sudanese army does not target the civilians," Aleisir stated.
Alesir stated that RSF militias, not the Sudanese army, target, abuse, and displace civilians. He also highlighted the army's role in protecting fleeing civilians. The minister added that Western-backed political groups, such as Tagadum, hijacked the Sudanese revolution to support the
RSF, who also attacked Sudanese media, causing significant financial losses but prompting the building of new media institutions.
The Sudanese minister also affirmed that Turkish mediation between Sudan and the UAE, initiated by
President Erdogan and welcomed by Abu Dhabi, aims to end the war. This comes after Sudan filed a complaint against the UAE at the UN, which the UAE denied.
