Death toll from Cyclone Chido in Mozambique rose to 94, according to the National Institute of Disaster Management.The cyclone-force winds and rains that hit Mozambique between December 15 and 19 also destroyed more than 110,000 homes, local authorities reported. More than 500 people were injured and 329,000 were displaced in the provinces of Cabo Delgado, Niassa, Nampula, Tete and Sofala.From Mozambique, the hurricane moved west, affecting Zimbabwe and Malawi. In Malawi, Chido killed 13 people, destroyed numerous buildings, and left 45,000 Malawians homeless, local authorities reported.Cyclone Chido originated on December 7-8 in the southeastern Indian Ocean. From there it began moving west toward the shores of Africa.
