Head of Russia's Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Defense Troops Igor Kirillov and his aide were killed in a bomb blast outside a residential block in Moscow on Tuesday morning.
Dr. Ntsikelelo Breakfast, a professor at Nelson Mandela University, shared with Sputnik Africa his perspective on the recent assassination of Lt. Gen. Igor Kirillov, the head of the Troops of Radiological, Chemical and Biological Defense of the Russian armed forces, suggesting international involvement.
Dr. Breakfast believes the attack was deliberate and coordinated, asserting that Ukraine likely had support from NATO allies in carrying out the operation.
"There's no way they could have done that by themselves without the assistance of other members of NATO," he said.

Aside from that, the professor also reflected on the geopolitical dynamics surrounding BRICS.
"BRICS is a threat to the current world order, which is dominated by the US, in my view," he reckoned.
According to Dr. Breakfast, the bloc represents a shift toward creating a new global system that prioritizes emerging economies over the traditionally Western-dominated structure. In his opinion, this aligns with recent discussions, including US President-Elect Donald Trump's comments on a potential new currency.
