Current Namibian Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah was declared the winner of November's presidential election on Tuesday with 57.31% of the vote.
Namibia’s President-elect Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has assured Namibians that she will deliver on the commitments made during her election campaign. These undertakings include, amongst others, fostering unity, diversity, natural resources beneficiation and youth empowerment for sustainable development through economic transformation.

"It was in the same room, in 2019 [previous elections] when our late president Hage Geingob stood here and said: ‘Namibians, we have heard you’. Today I am saying to the Namibian people, what we have been telling you through our campaign, that us in SWAPO and the team I am going to lead, we have made commitments, and I am saying we are going to do what we have told you. Thank you for the confidence and trust," Nandi-Ndaitwah said in her acceptance speech at the Electoral Commission of Namibia's results center on Tuesday.

Namibians have shown their love for Namibia by voting for the continuation of peace and stability, she sated shortly after being declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election.
She also thanked Namibians, SWAPO supporters and sympathizers for the confidence, trust and support they showed during the campaign period and throughout the process of elections.

"I would like to, on behalf of the SWAPO leadership, supporters and sympathizers, thank the Namibian people for once again having shown their confidence and trust for SWAPO to continue providing guidance on our developmental agenda and strengthening of our institution," Nandi-Ndaitwah remarked.

Her announcement as Namibia’s fifth president follows countrywide voting last Wednesday, extended to Friday and Saturday, necessitated by several challenges including technical issues with voter verification machines, lack of enough ballot papers at some polling stations, and network issues.
