The Russian capital's initiative Mosprom is engaged in supporting the city's industrial and agricultural product exports. Specialists provide support to Moscow manufacturers and foreign buyers, helping to build sustainable cooperation and trade relations.
Moscow's industrial exports to
North Africa surged 31% in the first eight months of 2024, driven by a doubling of medical equipment and pharmaceutical shipments, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for transport and industry Maxim Liksutov said.
"On the instructions of [Moscow Mayor] Sergey Sobyanin, the city is actively promoting the development of trade and economic relations between Moscow enterprises and friendly countries. Thanks to this support, Moscow manufacturers are rapidly increasing industrial exports to North African countries," Liksutov said.
He noted that overall non-resource, non-energy
exports increased by 9%, with industrial goods comprising 77% of the total. Popular products include electrical devices, industrial equipment, chemicals, building materials, and medical supplies.
Egypt has become a key trading partner for Moscow, with non-resource, non-energy exports soaring 43% in the first eight months of 2024, according to Anatoly Garbuzov, Head of the Department of
Investment and Industrial Policy.
Garbuzov noted a "more than 20%" increase in instrument-making products and an 80% jump in medicines and diagnostic reagents. He added that the total industrial goods exports to Egypt increased by 33% over the past eight months.
