MONTEVIDEO (Sputnik) - Uruguay held the second round of the presidential elections on Sunday, which were won by opposition candidate Yamandu Orsi. The future president will take office on March 1, 2025.
Russia expects to continue constructive cooperation with Uruguay's new government, Russian Ambassador Andrey Budayev told Sputnik on Monday.

"The Russian side looks forward to continuing constructive cooperation with the new Uruguayan government in various areas on the basis of long-standing traditions of friendship, equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit," Budayev said.
