Timothy Zulu, a Zambian youngster studying in Russia, was one of the participants in a Russian reality TV show, "Interns," where six students from agrarian universities received practical training at agricultural enterprises in Russia.
The Russian higher education is recommended for
foreign students, and the language barrier should not stop them, a Zambian student of veterinary medicine at Russia's Kuban State Agrarian University,
Timothy Zulu, told
Sputnik Africa."When you look at the education in Russia, it is one of the highly recommended diplomas or degrees in the world where you can work anywhere without doing an exam, which is a very good thing," he said, commenting on his participation in a Russian agricultural reality TV show, "Interns."
The participation in a Russian agricultural reality TV show proved transformative, providing valuable hands-on veterinary experience and fostering strong relationships with fellow participants, the student pointed out.
"I had some experience of working with animals as a vet doctor, or rather a vet assistant to the doctors that we are currently working with," he said, noting that at the show he learned "not only to treat animals, but how to live as a human being."
The speaker described learning the Russian language as challenging and emphasized the importance of attending language courses in Zambia organized by the Russian Center for Science and Culture (
Russian House in Zambia's capital, Lusaka).
"I was lucky that I attended the Russian language when I was back home. At least, I did the basics, because the main point of the Russian House in Lusaka is to teach students who want to come here at least to get them acquainted," Zulu noted.
The student also emphasized that if anyone wants to participate in the show of such kind, they "should do it with their heart."
