Among the areas of cooperation between Russia and African countries in the field of education that are being developed, Russian First Deputy Education Minister Alexander Bugayev highlighted the promotion of centers for open education in Russian and Russian language teaching, of which over 50 have been opened in 27 countries in Africa.
Russia is ready to extend the international humanitarian project "Russian Teachers Abroad," which aims to promote the Russian language and Russian education abroad, to more African countries, First Deputy Minister of Education of Russia Alexander Bugayev said at the First Russia-Africa Partnership Forum's Ministerial Conference, a Russian media reported.

"We have a lot of experience working on this project with our partners around the world. And it is very encouraging that it is now being widely developed in African countries. So far, the project is being implemented in six African countries, and we are ready to expand," the news outlet quoted him as saying.

Russia shares a common set of traditional spiritual and moral values with its African partners, and thus the interaction when Russian teachers come to African countries seems very promising, Bugayev stated.

"Our colleagues have a great demand for cooperation in the field of secondary vocational education. We are ready to respond. We are glad that representatives of African countries support our events, take part in our vocational skills competitions," he said, adding that a significant number of students from Africa study at pedagogical universities in Russia.

Opportunities related to the opening of Russian schools on the territory of Russia-friendly partners, as well as the organization of professional development courses for African educators and the provision of various types of methodological support, were identified by Bugayev as promising areas of cooperation.

"I would like to emphasize that we are open to cooperation and are very grateful to our partners for the openness on their part that we see and feel all the time," the speaker concluded.
