The Central African Republic's authorities have not submitted official requests regarding the increase in the number of Russian military instructors, Russian Charge d'Affaires to the Central African Republic Gennadiy Dominyak told Sputnik. Russian military experts made a significant contribution to stabilizing the situation in the border areas of the country, the diplomat added. He also said that experts believed that the recent lifting of the arms embargo would contribute to improving the combat readiness of the national defense forces. Russian Ambassador to the Central African Republic Alexander Bikantov has earlier said that there are 1,890 Russian military instructors in the country.
