SIRIUS, Russia (Sputnik) - CAR has been in conflict since a 2013 coup. Russia sent military instructors in 2018 to help the government fight rebel groups. Moscow has stressed that Russian representatives are not involved in hostilities and were deployed in CAR with the notification of the UN Security Council.
Central African Republic (CAR) Education Minister Aurelien Simplice Zingas on Saturday thanked Russia for its efforts to restore peace and security in his home country.

"We are grateful for everything that Russia is doing so that peace is restored in our country," Zingas said at the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.

The top CAR diplomat expressed his hope that the ties between the two countries in education would develop further.
"Our relations have deep roots and traditions. Our friendship counts many decades," he said.
