Russian Deputy FM, ECCAS Representative Discuss Fight Against Terrorism in Central Africa

The First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, following the Second Russia-Africa Summit in 2023, began its work on Saturday at the Sirius Federal Territory of Sirius University in Russia's southern city of Sochi.
Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and African Countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Chairman of the Commission of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) Gilberto Verissimo discussed the fight against the terrorist threat in this region on the sidelines of the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.
"During the conversation, a detailed discussion took place on a wide range of issues on the common agenda of Russia and the ECCAS. When discussing regional issues, the main focus was on issues of resolving the ongoing conflicts in Africa, combating the terrorist threat, and other challenges facing the Central African countries," the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.
The mutual commitment to developing multifaceted ties between Russia and the ECCAS in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres was confirmed, the ministry added.
