09:17 08.11.2024 (Updated: 13:23 08.11.2024) CARACAS (Sputnik) - Earlier, Maduro said that Venezuela considers Russia an "elder sister" and that Russia counts on Venezuela as a fundamental force in Latin America, reports said.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro may come to Russia in 2025 to sign a strategic partnership and cooperation agreement, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, who was on a working visit to Caracas, said.
"We will be happy with your visit to Russia in 2025, during which a strategic partnership and cooperation agreement will be signed," Chernyshenko said at a meeting with Maduro.
He also thanked Maduro for
participating in the BRICS Summit, which was held in the Russian city of Kazan on October 22-24.
"Russia and Venezuela have formed ties that cannot be broken. Our countries are linked by strong friendship, strategic partnership and political support that is not subject to the current situation," Chernyshenko concluded.
