Four foreign mercenaries attempting to infiltrate Russia's Bryansk region were eliminated by Russian forces on Sunday, the Federal Security Service (FSB) announced. Items proving their foreign origin were found on the dead saboteurs, and one of them had a US military tattoo on his body, the FSB said.
The recent incursion of mercenaries into the Russian territory could be called a war declaration from a legal point of view, Cyrille de Lattre, a French geopolitical analyst, said in an interview with Sputnik Africa.

"Because from the moment we have soldiers of a foreign army invading the territory of the Russian Federation, we can legally call that a declaration of war," Cyrille de Lattre stated.

Returning to the eliminated individual with the tattoo of the 75th US Army Ranger Regiment, the analyst highlighted the need to establish whether the latter was still an officer in service or not. He added that it is also necessary to point out those who stand behind the hostilities in Ukraine.

US Mercenaries Presence in Russia Constitutes Direct US Involvement in Conflict, Iranian Expert Says
"The West, I'm talking about the United States, France, the European Union, etc. are actively co-belligerents in this conflict. And Russia is very magnanimous in reacting as it reacts," Cyrille de Lattre stated.
He added that this kind of incursions "are intended to destabilize, that's obvious," especially as the American election approaches.
