Two candidates running for the presidency in the US have absolutely different points of view about further support of Ukraine, a Western news agency reported on Monday. According to the news outlet, Ukrainian officials hope that a new American administration will make key decisions related to this support, including inviting Kiev to join NATO. Kamala Harris would continue Biden’s policy in terms of Ukraine, said Malcom Chalmers, deputy director general at the Royal United Services Institute in London, as quoted by the news agency. However, he added that Harris is unlikely to allow Kiev to strike deep inside Russia. At the same time, the media reported, quoting Chalmers, that Trump would cut off military aid to Ukraine. American presidential elections will take place on November 5. Two candidates are running for the position of president: Kamala Harris from the Democratics and Donald Trump from the Republicans.

Course of Ukrainian Conflict to Depend on Results of Presidential Elections in US: Report
15:45 28.10.2024 (Updated: 15:46 28.10.2024) Last week, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that it's really pointless to put numbers on the chances of a peaceful settlement in Ukraine because Kiev has repeatedly rejected peace talks. Aside from that, Putin believes that Trump was sincere about hoping to resolve the conflict if elected.
Two candidates running for the presidency in the US have absolutely different points of view about further support of Ukraine, a Western news agency reported on Monday. According to the news outlet, Ukrainian officials hope that a new American administration will make key decisions related to this support, including inviting Kiev to join NATO.
Kamala Harris would continue Biden’s
policy in terms of Ukraine, said Malcom Chalmers, deputy director general at the Royal United Services Institute in London, as quoted by the news agency. However, he added that Harris is unlikely to allow Kiev to strike deep inside Russia.
At the same time, the media reported, quoting Chalmers, that Trump would cut off
military aid to Ukraine.
"Donald Trump is raising the very distinct probability that the United States will cut off most if not all military aid to Ukraine, which given that the situation on the ground, although deadlocked, is one which Russia currently has the advantage, could tip the balance in Russia’s favor," the expert noted, as quoted by the news outlet.

presidential elections will take place on November 5. Two candidates are running for the position of president: Kamala Harris from the Democratics and Donald Trump from the Republicans.
