MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Wednesday that it had launched a strike on an arms depot of Lebanese movement Hezbollah on the outskirts of Beirut.
"A short while ago, with the direction of precise IDF intelligence, the IAF [Israeli air force] conducted a strike on strategic weapons belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization. These weapons were stockpiled by Hezbollah in an underground storage facility in the area of Dahieh, a key Hezbollah terrorist stronghold in Beirut," the IDF said on Telegram.
Media have previously reported that the IDF had urged citizens of Beirut's southern suburb to evacuate immediately.
