On September 18-19, the BRICS Urban Future Forum is taking place in Moscow. Subtitled "Cloud City," the event brings together more than 5,000 participants from over 30 countries, including Africans.
Dr. Godwill G. Wanga, Executive Secretary of the Tanzania National Business Council, has highlighted the need for digital solutions to address the rapid urbanization and population growth facing Tanzania.
Speaking to Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the BRICS Urban Future Forum in Moscow, Wanga emphasized the potential for collaboration between Tanzania and Russia in developing digital solutions to meet the growing demands of Tanzanian cities.
"Most of our countries are growing, the populations are growing, the cities are growing. So we need to have digital solutions which can help us to cope up with the needs and the requirements of those cities," he said.
Wanga also stressed the importance of partnerships between the public and private sectors in driving the development of a digital economy in Tanzania.

Namibian Mayor Sees Moscow's Digital Advancements as Inspiration for Her City
He believes that the BRICS forum presents a valuable opportunity for Tanzanian businesses to explore partnerships with Russian companies and learn from their experiences in digital development.

"We are learning a lot from Russia and other countries which have presented here," he said, expressing optimism about the applicability of Russian solutions to Tanzanian needs.

In addition, Wanga underscored the potential for mutually beneficial collaboration between Russia and Tanzania, emphasizing that both nations share common interests and a desire for growth and development.

"We need to work together [...] We need to support each other, and we grow together at a win-win scenario," he stated, highlighting the potential for strong economic partnerships between the two countries.
