BEIJING (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin told the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok last week that the leaders of China, Brazil, and India were genuinely committed to helping resolve the Ukrainian conflict. The four are members of the BRICS group, whose security officials are meeting in Russia's St. Petersburg.
China is prepared to work with the international community to facilitate a political resolution to the Ukrainian crisis and play a constructive role in achieving peace, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
"China’s position on the Ukraine crisis is consistent and very clear. China is committed to promoting peace talks and supports all efforts for peace," Mao Ning said.
She added, "We stand ready to continue working with the international community to accumulate conditions for the political settlement of the crisis and play a constructive role for peace."
