Russia's cross-border payments to none of the countries are not suspended, but there are difficulties, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Roman Chekushov said at a session of the Eastern Economic Forum titled "Global Trade: A Tool for Development, Not Pressure."According to him, today it is necessary to provide an exit to settlements in national currencies and maximize integration into digital solutions. The official added, "These are indeed the realities of today's work, so we find different corridors through which these payments pass. Therefore, to say that they have stopped or are not going somewhere – there is no such situation now."At the same time, Chekushov stressed the importance of sustainable mechanisms in terms of international settlements. In particular, it is the possibility of using digital financial assets.

From September 3-6, the Russian city of Vladivostok is hosting the 2024 Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), where business leaders and officials from around the world are gathering to participate in panel discussions, roundtables, televised debates, and business dialogues on prospects for cooperation.
Russia's cross-border payments to none of the countries are not suspended, but there are difficulties, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Roman Chekushov said at a session of the Eastern Economic Forum titled "Global Trade:
A Tool for Development, Not Pressure."
According to him, today it is necessary to provide an exit to settlements in national currencies and maximize integration into digital solutions.
"In fact, payments to any country in the world have not been stopped. Yes, the situation is becoming more complicated due to the aggressive and dishonest behavior of Western countries and the pressure they exert on our partners in terms of secondary sanctions," he said.
The official added, "These are indeed the realities of today's work, so we find different corridors through which these payments pass. Therefore, to say that they have stopped or are not going somewhere
– there is no such
situation now."
At the same time, Chekushov stressed the importance of sustainable mechanisms in terms of international settlements. In particular, it is the possibility of using digital financial assets.
"This is the right thing that the president, having signed the federal law, gave on the launch of the experimental regime in the use of cryptocurrencies in settlements. This is the kind of digital infrastructure that will facilitate settlements in the future," the deputy minister added.
