MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Since the beginning of 2024, in the context of Russia's special military operation, Russian forces have made significant advances in the Donbas region, capturing new settlements in the Donbas region.
Russian forces took control of the Sergeyevka (also known as Serhiivka) settlement in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the ministry said.
"The Ukrainian armed forces lost up to 3,825 servicepeople, nine armored combat vehicles, 29 vehicles, and 50 field artillery units," the ministry said.
Ukraine has lost up to 3,195 soldiers and four tanks in battles with Russia’s Tsentr (Central) group of forces, the ministry said.
Russia's Sever (North) group of forces is repelling the attempt by Ukraine to break into the Kursk region, and Kiev has lost up to 2,765 soldiers in battles with Russian troops.
Russian troops of the Zapad (West) group repelled 12 Ukrainian counterattacks, and Kiev has lost up to 3,450 soldiers and six tanks in the fight.
Ukraine has lost up to 770 soldiers in battles with Russia's Vostok (East) group of forces, the ministry said.
