The press conference on Thursday was touted as Biden's best chance to show Democrats that he could respond quickly to unexpected questions and think critically under pressure. Pressure has been building for weeks on Biden to withdraw from the 2024 contest after his appalling performance in the June 27 debate against Trump.
During his much-awaited solo press conference in Washington, US President Joe Biden mispronounced Vice President Kamala Harris as "Vice President Trump."

“Look, I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president [if] I think she’s not qualified to be president,” Biden stated, conflating his deputy with his rival in the November election, the ex-president Donald Trump.

In the last question of the press conference, a reporter pointed out Biden's mistake and asked the president to address it after Trump made fun of him for it. "Listen to him," Biden replied, grinning to himself, and he left the stage.
Earlier on Thursday night, during a staged NATO ceremony honoring Ukraine, Biden further inflamed his political wounds by unintentionally referring to Volodymyr Zelensky as "President Putin."

“And now I want to hand it over to the President of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin,” Biden said before correcting himself.

Biden, as he has done all week, rigidly dismissed any notion that he ought to or would withdraw, claiming that no one is more qualified than he is to defeat Trump in November.

Nonetheless, Biden acknowledged that if his team informed him there was "no way" he could win, he would consider dropping out of the race.
The president mispronounced words and seemed to lose his train of thought multiple times while answering questions from reporters, even though he was there to save his collapsing campaign. On Truth Social, Trump and his campaign shared multiple videos of Biden making mistakes.
Another memorable Biden gaffe was calling his chief of staff “my commander in chief” until he realized what he had done.
Netizens, of course, did not ignore another rather Freudian slip by President Biden. It also seems even Trump found time to react to his appointment as Biden's vice president (last video in the post below).
