Pressure has been building for weeks on Biden to withdraw from the 2024 contest after his appalling performance in the June 27 debate against Trump.
During his much-awaited solo press conference in Washington, US President Joe Biden mispronounced Vice President Kamala Harris as "Vice President Trump."
“Look, I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president [if] I think she’s not qualified to be president,” Biden stated, conflating his deputy with his rival in the November election, the ex-president Donald Trump.
In the last question of the press conference, a reporter pointed out Biden's mistake and asked the president to address it after Trump
made fun of him for it. "Listen to him," Biden replied, grinning to himself, and he left the stage.
