WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - Biden's showing in last week's debate with former US President Donald Trump reignited discussions among Democrats about potentially replacing him as their presidential candidate. At 81, Biden is the oldest president in US history and has been the subject of speculation regarding his physical health and cognitive capabilities.
President Joe Biden said in an interview with ABC News that he's the most qualified person in the presidential election to serve as US president.
"I don't think anybody's more qualified to be president or win this race than me," Biden said on Friday.
Biden further said that he doesn't rely on polls showing that his Republican rival, Donald Trump, is leading the race to the White House.
"I don't buy that," Biden said on Friday when asked about polls showing him trailing Trump.
Biden added that polling data isn't as accurate as it used to be.

Moreover, the US president revealed that no one told him he needs a full cognitive evaluation.
"I get a full neurological test every day," Biden said on whether he had a full neurological and cognitive evaluation. "I have had a full physical … No one said I have to [get a full cognitive evaluation]."
Questioned about whether he would be willing to undergo a full physical examination and release the results to the public, Biden answered by saying that he gets a "cognitive test every single day."
On Friday night, ABC News aired its interview with Biden — the first one since his dismal debate performance with Trump last week.
