The 2019 elections in Mauritania marked the first transfer of power between two elected heads of state in the country's history.
Mauritania's electoral commission released the data after processing ballots from more than 99.97% of the country's polling stations. According to preliminary results, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani was re-elected president of the country with 56% of the vote.
