PYONGYANG (Sputnik) - North Korea intends to strengthen strategic cooperation with Russia amid the deteriorating situation in the world, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said on Wednesday.
"Now the situation in the world is becoming more complicated and changing rapidly. In this situation, we intend to further strengthen strategic communication with Russia, with the Russian leadership," Kim said at talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un also noted the role of Moscow in maintaining strategic stability in the world and expressed support for Russia in implementing the military operation in Ukraine.
"The government of North Korea appreciates the important mission and role of a strong Russia in maintaining strategic stability and balance in the world and also expresses full support and solidarity to the Russian government, army, and people in carrying out the special military operation in Ukraine to protect sovereignty, security interests, and also territorial integrity," Kim said.
