Russian Leading Virtualization Developer to Open Office in Africa

Basis is a leading Russian developer of dynamic infrastructure platforms, virtualization and cloud solutions. It was founded in 2021 by merging the IT assets of a number of Russian technology companies, including Russia's state-owned and largest telecommunications provider, Rostelecom.
Leading Russian virtualization developer Basis is looking for
partners in Africa to open an office in one of the continent's countries, the company's head David Martirosov told Sputnik in an interview.
"We are interested in the African market: we are doing research to understand which of the continent's countries would be the most attractive from the point of view of opening an office, we are looking for local partners," he said.
According to him, the company is also looking at the Brazilian market with interest. At the same time, he admitted that the lack of knowledge of foreign markets is the main
obstacle to the export of Russian products. Russian developers, he said, can offer other countries a unique business model.
"If you look at what other countries are doing, Western countries are offering popular products, and China is offering strong leverage or installments - of course, this is a strong argument for a deal. We, in turn, can offer technological institutionalization, and that is much more than just a product," Martirosov explained.
He explained that "
the model could be as follows: we create a strategic partnership with significant participation of a local player and transfer the code to the joint venture. Then we develop the solution and train local experts. Our advantage is that we become an active participant in the joint venture. In this way, we ensure technological autonomy, while retaining full control of the code and increasing our revenue".
In the event of changes in the international political environment, customers will not be dependent on third countries.
"This is a unique and unusual offer on the market," Martirosov stressed.
