Part of Russia’s aid in the form of 50,000 tonnes of wheat can be distributed in the Central African Republic’s eastern and border regions, the Russian Embassy in Bangui said on Wednesday. The embassy said that Russian Ambassador to CAR Alexander Bikantov held a meeting with Sudan’s ambassador in Bangui on Wednesday to discuss the situation in the border areas between the CAR and Sudan. At the second Russia-Africa Summit in July 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to deliver 200,000 tonnes of free humanitarian grain relief to six African countries recognized by the World Food Program as being in need due to conflict, climate change, and other factors.Thanks to this initiative, Mali, Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic, Eritrea, Somalia and Zimbabwe received much-needed help.

12:27 24.04.2024 (Updated: 12:26 19.06.2024) MOSCOW (Sputnik) - In March, Moscow handed humanitarian aid to the Central African Republic (CAR) in the form of 50,000 tonnes of wheat. In January, the nation already received 50,000 tonnes of free Russian grain.

tonnes of wheat can be distributed in the Central African Republic’s eastern and border regions, the Russian Embassy in Bangui said on Wednesday.
The embassy said that Russian Ambassador to CAR Alexander Bikantov held a meeting with Sudan’s ambassador in Bangui on Wednesday to discuss the situation in the border areas between the CAR and Sudan.
"The Russian ambassador informed his Sudanese counterpart about the supply of Russian humanitarian food aid to the Central African Republic in the form of 50,000 tonnes of wheat, part of which can be used to meet the needs of the population and people living in temporary accommodation in the eastern and border regions of the country," the embassy wrote in its Telegram channel.
