International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi will soon pay a visit to Iran, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami said on Wednesday.In February, Eslami said that Grossi may visit Iran in the near future, most likely during the country's first International Nuclear Conference in May. In 2015, Iran signed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States, with the involvement of the European Union. The deal committed Iran to scaling back its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief. The US withdrew from the deal in 2018 under then-President Donald Trump, but resumed talks with Iran in a bid to revive the deal under incumbent President Joe Biden. TEHRAN (Sputnik) - A day earlier, Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, said the International Atomic Energy Agency was temporarily withdrawing its inspectors from Iran amid tensions in the region.
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi will soon pay a visit to Iran, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami said on Wednesday.
"Grossi will soon visit Iran," Eslami said, as quoted by the local broadcaster.
