MOSCOW (Sputnik) - In February, then-DRC Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde resigned, which led to the dissolution of his cabinet.
Felix Tshisekedi, the president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), has appointed Judith Tuluka Suminwa as the nation's first female prime minister, the country's presidency said on Monday.
"This is the first woman to hold the prime minister's office in the DRC since the Congo gained independence. This move will support the positive masculinity [approach] advocated by President Felix Tshisekedi," the presidency said on X.
