On March 15-17, Russia held presidential elections, the eighth in the country's modern history. The President of the Russian Federation is elected for a six-year term by the citizens of Russia on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot.
Putin's election victory pleases Serbs who see him as support and as a friend, President of the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik stated.

"The fifth mandate at the helm of the Russian Federation, obtained by a convincing victory in the presidential election, is a confirmation that President Vladimir Putin enjoys great trust of the Russian people and that he is leading the country in the right direction," Dodik said.

According to him, this choice of the Russians is a guarantee that traditional values will be preserved in the current world and that "the world will not become a place where only the chosen ones can make decisions about everything".
Dodik congratulated Putin, "a dear friend of Republika Srpska and the Serbian people," and wished him health, strength and fortitude "on the path of preserving Russia and ensuring peace and a better future for the whole world."
According to the latest data from the Central Election Commission, Putin is leading in the Russian presidential election with 87.15% of the vote after processing 80% of the protocols.
