Voting to elect the next president of Russia started on Friday and will last three days until March 17. Delegations of international observers from 36 nations, including representatives from 30 national parliaments and 5 international organizations, have arrived in Russia to witness the voting.
Russian presidential election process is "very open" and "free," Joseph Mgaya, observer from Chama Cha Mapinduzi leading party in Tanzania, told Sputnik Africa.

“The voting process here is very interesting. […] It takes very small time, just 3 to 5 minutes you are done, is very open and freely,” Mgaya said.

Furthermore, the observer pointed out that Russian citizens are voting “freely” and they can do it in every corner of the country – you just need to have an ID with you.

"People voting freely, practicing democracy of choosing who they want freely. As long as they have identity [ID], as long as they have eligibility to vote, no matter where they were registered, they can go to any polling station and vote," he noted.

He continued, saying that he came to Russia to learn from the friendly country how elections can be practiced.
Mgaya also praised the “high-end” online voting technology that simplifies the whole election process.
“I'm very interested in it because it's high-end [and] […] it's very open,” he added.
