UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) – On October 7, Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, in which more than 1,200 people were killed and some 240 others abducted. Israel responded with its own military operation in the Gaza Strip, including airstrikes, a ground incursion and blockade of the Palestinian enclave.
China urges Israel to cease its military operation in the Gaza Strip and stop its collective punishment of Palestinians, China's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Geng Shuang said on Thursday.
“We once again call on Israel to immediately cease its military operation in Gaza and to stop collective punishment of the Palestinian people,” Geng Shuang said during a UN Security Council meeting.
He urged the international community to take immediate actions to establish
