The agreement was signed following an official visit to Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa, by Ugandan Defense Minister Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja and the country's Chief of Defense Staff, General Wilson Mbasu Mbadi.
Ethiopia and Uganda signed an agreement on Wednesday that will facilitate military cooperation between the two East African countries, the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) revealed.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministries of Defense and a document, which contains a detailed plan for the implementation of the MoU, was signed between the Headquarters, the Ethiopian military added.
The memorandum, aimed at fostering collaboration, encompasses crucial areas such as information exchange, military capacity building, peacekeeping, and regional security, as outlined by the Ethiopian National Defense Forces.

Minister Ssempijja, on behalf of Uganda, reaffirmed the commitment to implementing the agreed terms, the army added.
ENDF Chief of Staff, Field Marshal Birhanu Jula reflected on the historic ties between Ethiopia and Uganda.
"Uganda is a friendly country to Ethiopia and the two countries have also been working together on Pan-Africanism," he was quoted by the military as said.
Also on Wednesday, the Ethiopian government, represented by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, pledged to strengthen ties with another country in the region, Kenya.
The developments came during Ahmed's visit to Nairobi to meet with Kenyan President William Ruto, after which the leaders acknowledged the deep historical and economic ties between their nations.
