For centuries, colonial powers looted cultural artifacts and treasures that held significant historical and cultural value to African societies. These priceless artifacts were often taken to museums and private collections in Europe, depriving African nations of their own cultural heritage.
Russia is ready to help African countries with stocktaking of items stolen by colonialists, Russia's Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs and member of the All-Russian political party "United Russia", Andrey Klimov, said.
Around $300 trillion worth of property was looted from colonized nations worldwide during the foriegn rule, he noted.

"This is a colossal figure, not taking into account the human lives destroyed," the politician added.
