MOSCOW (Sputnik) - In 2017, during a meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Russia, and Iran made the decision to establish four de-escalation zones in Syria. These zones were designated in areas that were not under control of the Syrian government.
The military aviation of the Russian aerospace forces have organized air patrols along the separation zone between armed forces of Israel and Syria, Vadim Kulit, the deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, said on Thursday.
“As part of monitoring the situation, the military aviation of the Russian aerospace forces organized air patrols along the border of the separation zone of the Israeli armed forces and the Syrian armed forces [the Bravo Line],” Kulit told a briefing.
Speaking of the situation in Syria, Kulit reported that over the past 24 hours in the Idlib de-escalation zone, three attacks on government positions by the terrorist groups Jabhat al-Nusra* and the Islamic Party of Turkestan* were recorded: one in the province of Aleppo and two - in the province of Idlib.
Moreover, in the Al-Tanf area in the southern Syria, the international coalition led by the US recorded one violation of Syrian airspace by a multipurpose MQ-1C drone.
