MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On Tuesday, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said that Ukraine lost over 215,000 servicepeople and 28,000 weapons last year, adding that the Ukrainian military is experiencing a depletion of manpower and lacks results on the battlefield.
Combat helicopter crews of the Russian Aerospace Forces hit troops and armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Krasny Lyman direction, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"A strike group of the Army Aviation of the Aerospace Forces hit a concentration of manpower, as well as enemy armored vehicles, in the Krasny Lyman direction. The strike was carried out by S-8 aircraft rockets from the closest possible distance," the ministry said.
Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24, 2022. President Vladimir Putin has said the operation aims to "protect people subjected to genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years." According to the president, the ultimate goal of the operation is to liberate Donbas and create conditions that guarantee Russia's security.
